Celebrating the Marsh Through “Found Poetry”

August 8 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Bring a notepad and a pencil, and join Jenn Bogard, professor of poetry and writing at Lesley University and author of The ABCs of Plum Island, Massachusetts. No experience with poetry needed! Jenn will guide you into the process of creating a “found poem” by choosing words and phrases that exist in texts around us (words found in quotations, displays, signs, and videos; and in word lists generated from
images and sounds). We’ll arrange these words and phrases into original “found poems” to create meaning. Help us celebrate the marsh with the magic of found poetry! All ages welcome. Program will take place at the refuge visitor center. Preregistration required.
