September Artist of the Month: Beth Macy
Sept. 1 – Sept. 31, Parker River Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center, 6 Plum Island Turnpike, Newburyport, MA
This September, the Parker River Wildlife Refuge is proud to showcase the work of Beth Macy, an accomplished painter whose work captures the beauty and spirit of the natural world. Macy’s artistry shines through her use of both brush and palette knife, working in oils and acrylics to create vibrant landscapes and wildlife scenes. Her paintings, often completed on-site in Newbury and Newburyport, are a celebration of the world around us, each piece intended to convey her deep connection to nature.
In Macy’s own words, “I strive to share the mood, allowing the viewer to embrace the scene.” This philosophy is evident in every piece she creates, as she invites viewers to step into the tranquil and evocative environments she so lovingly portrays.
Beth Macy’s art education includes studies at prestigious institutions such as the Museum of Fine Arts, the Copley Society, and Montserrat College. Her work has been exhibited across New England and is held in collections ranging from New York to Australia. Represented by various galleries, Macy’s paintings are a testament to her skill and passion for capturing the essence of the natural world.
