A Note from Bill Gette:
In late August, large numbers of Tree Swallows come to the Parker River NWR to feed on insects and berries before continuing on to their winter ranges in the southern United States and Central America. As the sun begins to set over the refuge (Plum Island), Tree Swallows often form large swarms – thousands of them. We hope to observe this amazing wildlife spectacle along with the many Snowy and Great Egrets that come to the refuge for the nighttime roosts. We hope you can join us!
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to witness one of nature’s most breathtaking phenomena.
