Join Us for the Annual Refuge Beach Clean-Up!

This fall, the Friends of Parker River National Wildlife Refuge are excited to once again host our annual Refuge Beach Clean-Up—a meaningful event that supports habitat preservation. We invite volunteers of all ages to join us in removing litter from the refuge’s beaches and marsh edges. Over the years, volunteers have made a significant impact by clearing tons of debris, improving safety for both visitors and wildlife.

If you’re also interested in helping with trail maintenance, we encourage you to bring loppers and clippers to cut back vegetation along the trails. A Friends Board member will be on-site with tools and instructions.

Event Details:

  • Date: Saturday, September 28
  • Time: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • Location: Parking Lot #1, Plum Island

Come with friends and family—work as long as you like. We will provide trash bags, a brief safety orientation, and plenty of gratitude! Don’t forget your sunscreen and sturdy shoes. Let’s keep our refuge clean and safe for all!
