Artist of the Month: July 2024

Exhibit: “Up Down and Along the Way”

Dates: July 1 – July 31  

Location: Parker River Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center, 6 Plum Island Turnpike, Newburyport, MA  

This July, the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center proudly presents “Up Down and Along the Way,” an exhibit featuring the works of nine local printmakers and one photographer. These talented artists have captured the beauty and essence of the region’s sandy beaches, wetlands, and local wildlife through various printmaking techniques including monotypes, monoprints, woodcuts, and color reductive linoleum.

The artwork on display highlights the intricate and diverse methods of printmaking, showcasing unique perspectives on the natural beauty found in the Parker River area. Tina McManus’ bird photography, which has inspired some of the prints, adds an additional layer of depth to the exhibit.
